I think these 2 giants (Airtel and Vodafone have targeted it just for the higher class in India. The companies know what kind of money these high segment people earn and thats the reason they are neither bringing down the prices of the iPhone nor are they launching any unlimited data plans. Their motto is to prevent the iPhone from becoming cheap common public material as if that happens the richa and famous may no longer crave for it. Actually the strategy could be a staggered approach, first cover the higher segment until saturation and then come to the middle segment.
